On Patrick Beverley

Rockets icon Vernon Maxwell left no doubts about his feelings toward Patrick Beverley when he joined the Usual Suspects.  He described Beverley as a “chip off the old block.” Maxwell loves Beverley’s edge, grittiness, and passion on the court. He went as far as to say that Beverley is one of the few active players in the NBA that would be tough enough to play during Vernon’s era. When asked about Patrick’s recent incident with an unruly fan, Maxwell said that he really couldn’t comment on it because he didn’t see it. He did though give some insight on his confrontation back in 1995 with a fan while adding words of caution to other NBA players against such fan interactions.

On the Rockets’ Championship chances

“Mad Max” posits that the Rockets could match up well against the Spurs and find themselves facing the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. He admits, though, he’s unsure of how the Rockets would fare in that potential matchup.

Joel and Barry also read some of Maxwell’s hilarious Twitter posts.
