The Blitz: What to expect in return for Pat Beverley

Yesterday on The Blitz, the guys discussed the enormous amount of trade rumors being floated around in the NBA. One of the biggest stories revolves around Rockets guard, Patrick Beverley. Beverley is one of the most likely players to be traded because he only has one year left on his deal, and he hasn’t exactly seemed excited to play with James Harden after the Rockets flamed out in the playoffs against the Spurs. Fred doesn’t expect the Rockets to be able to swing a blockbuster deal, because they just don’t have the assets to make a big move like that happen. Not to mention, they don’t have the cap space to fit another player with a large salary.

What really surprises A.J. is the rumored trade of Knicks big man, Kristaps Porzingis. The idea that the Knicks would get rid of the only standout player on their team seems ridiculous. The guys both wonder what the Knicks could receive in return that would make them pull the trigger on a deal for their best player. Draft picks are an unknown commodity and you better have a player in mind to select with those picks if you are going to make a big move and trade Porzingis.
