What Do You Expect From J.J. Watt In 2017?

Texans fans weigh in with their opinions on what they believe they’ll see from #99 this season.

J.J. Watt is returning from season-ending back surgery. In fact, the surgery that ended Watt’s 2016 season was the second such procedure he had in a little more than two months. Although he’s yet to take live snaps against an opposing team, Texans fans have been given reason to hope and reason to dream the All-Universe defensive end will resemble the player he was before 2016 went awry. But we don’t know anything and really won’t until we see him line up against the Jaguars on September 10th.

My question to you, fellow Houston fanatic, is this: What do you expect from J.J. Watt in 2017? Reasonable minds can differ about which of Watt’s prior campaigns represented “Peak Watt.” You may think that season was 2012, when he tallied 20.5 sacks and somehow defended 16 passes on his way to winning his first Defensive Player of the Year award. You could just as easily theorize that Watt’s 2014 season—when he should have won NFL MVP and did win his second of three Defensive Player of the Year awards—was the superior effort. Regardless of which you believe truly represented the best of what Watt has offered thus far as one of the indisputable all-time greats in NFL history, what do you think the Texans will get from him this season?

I readily admit the poll below is far from exact and quite open to criticism or interpretation, but my goal is for it to provide a window into what people anticipate from Watt in 2017. Cast your ballot and expand upon your view in the Comments, please.
