Astros manager, A.J. Hinch, caught up with the Usual Suspects and talked about all the injuries the team has been dealing with, if Evan Gattis will have to go to the DL, his thoughts on the amount of work the bullpen has been putting in, and his reaction to Dallas Keuchel’s comments about the Astros lack of movement at the trade deadline.

Derek Fisher has big upside

One of the reasons the Astros traded away Nori Aoki was because Derek Fisher’s play commanded more playing time, and they wanted him to have as much experience as possible before the playoffs begin. Hinch didn’t believe calling Fisher up in September would allow him to get enough at-bats on the major league level to prepare him for the pitching he will see in the postseason. Finally, Hinch expects George Springer to be ready to return from the DL soon, and he looks forward to getting his regular starters back in the lineup.
