The Astros were rumored to have some big deals on the horizon before the trade deadline expired at 3pm CT on Monday. Astros owner Jim Crane joined Granato and Raheel with Del this morning and said the Astros had some deals in place, but they were vetoed, possibly by the other team’s ownership, before anything was finalized. This is purely speculation, but I believe the Astros had a deal worked out for Orioles’ closer, Zach Britton, until Orioles ownership wouldn’t approve the trade. MLB.com’s, Brian McTaggart, caught up with Dallas Keuchel and asked him to share his thoughts on the Astros lack of movement. Keuchel stated that being disappointed was an understatement, and he feels that several World Series contenders got a lot better yesterday. Finally, he still believes the team has enough to make a deep playoff run, but would have liked to see more activity from the Astros.
When asked about Trade Deadline, Keuchel said: “I’m not going to lie. Disappointment is a little bit of an understatement.” pic.twitter.com/hUgk3M45jg
