Ben Reiter, known for his Sports Illustrated cover article in 2014 that predicted the Astros would in the World Series in 2017, joins Granato and Raheel with Del and talks about his new book, Astroball: The New Way to Win It All, that gives an in-depth perspective on how the Astros turned one of the worst teams in baseball history into World Series champs. Reiter talks about how Jeff Luhnow built the team using stats and info, but also departed from the ‘Moneyball’ philosophy when he chose to bring in veteran players like Carlos Beltran and Brian McCann. Don’t miss this terrific interview with some great insight into how the Astros built a championship roster.

Make sure you catch Granato and Raheel with Del weekdays from 9:30-11am on ESPN 97.5 radio. You can listen live or on demand with the ESPN 97.5 radio app.
